Play Gloucestershire is a registered charity (number 1126562) that delivers active and creative outdoor play in urban and rural communities, whatever the weather, all year round and in the process transforms children’s lives. We particularly support children from disadvantaged and rurally isolated communities and those living in challenging circumstances. Activities are both school and community based, and our Play Rangers provide adventure, friendship and fun for hundreds of school aged children each year.
To help ensure that our charity is making the best of our budgeting and financial planning we are looking for an accountant or management accounts provider to spend one or two days a year looking over our methods, spreadsheets and reports suggesting any improvements or new things we could try, whilst also helping us review our progress.
We are not looking for someone to do our accounts! (Our Office Manager does that quite happily.) What we want is someone with professional skills and knowledge that can review and improve our practices and strategies and help us find ways to make absolutely sure we are getting the very best out of our financial resources. Ideally we’d love for this to be a long term relationship, with the person giving us a day or two each year to help us progress.
If you’d like to discuss things further without committing yourself to volunteering with us, please do not hesitate to contact Helen Logan on office@Playgloucestershire.org.uk We’d be delighted to discuss things through with you.
Why get involved?
Play Gloucestershire is a high profile well respected local charity that does make a difference to the lives of local children through encouraging outdoor play, which in term develops social skills, imagination and creativity, physical and mental health. We need to ensure that we apply the very best financial strategies and techniques to make sure our funds go as far as possible and need outside professional help to make this happen. Your everyday professional skills in accountancy and finance will help us make this happen. It is a great way to test and expand your knowledge outside of your sector and develop new thinking around application and strategies, which may help you in your paid role and your wider company.
We are a small but very friendly team and so you would be very welcome when you join us. We would also be delighted to publicly celebrate the role your company is playing in helping us out, bringing positive publicity for your firm.
