The Cavern is the quirky coffee shop in the basement of our Treasure Seekers building in Westgate Street. Here at Treasure Seekers we believe that every single person has something to give to the community. We also believe that when someone is in a nurturing community they can grow and develop to become the best version of themselves. All of our volunteering opportunities are fully supported to help you be part of something bigger, grow and develop your skills and grow in confidence.
Volunteering in the Cavern coffee shop has helped many people get into paid employment. As well as gaining experience, confidence and skills in the Cavern with things like serving and preparing drinks and cakes, money handling, stock taking, displaying items for sales and customer service, you will also make new friendships. If you wanted we will also help you with things like CV writing to help you get into paid work.
We positively welcome all people in our community as volunteers at the Cavern.

We need people to run the Cavern. This would involve taking orders and payments, serving hot and cold drinks, cakes and other snacks as well as keeping the serving and eating areas clean and tidy and doing the washing and drying up. We open late into the evening, as well as during the day, so there are lots of shifts to be filled.
Why get involved?
This is a great chance to develop and practice customer service and basic catering skills in a friendly environment whilst meeting lots of new people. If it suits you we can also help you with presenting and building up your CV to help you move onto paid employment.
