Here at Treasure Seekers we believe that every single person has something to give to the community. We also believe that when someone is in a nurturing community they can grow and develop to become the best version of themselves. All of our volunteering opportunities are fully supported to help you be part of something bigger, grow and develop your skills and grow in confidence.
We need volunteers to man our sound desk at our discos, performing arts events and coffee mornings – all events that positively welcome adults with learning difficulties. If you can choose music to uplift and inspire everyone to dance and express themselves, then you are the DJ we need.
We positively welcome all people in our community as volunteers at Treasure Seekers. If you would like an informal chat about this challenge without committing yourself please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Treasure Seekers runs discos for people living with learning difficulties. We also have DJ music at our coffee mornings and performing arts evenings which also heavily involve people living with learning difficulties. We need volunteers to be our DJs to ensure our events are lively affairs. You’ll be putting on the music, taking requests and curating your musical set to keep the mood and atmosphere in the party spirit. We have a regularly updated music playlist list from Spotify and use an audio desk to mix the levels.
Typically we have at least three events each week that need a DJ – we don’t expect one volunteer to cover them all and we can work out with you how regularly you can give your time.
Why get involved?
Music and dancing is such a great way to express yourself, lift mood and have fun that we want to make sure that everyone has a chance to access a disco in a safe and supported environment. By DJing at our discos, coffee mornings and performing arts events you are making a positive contribution to the lives of people living with learning difficulties as well as homing your own awesome music skills.
