Regular Help

Inclusion Gloucestershire Social media

Inclusion Gloucestershire supports people with physical or learning disabilities or mental ill health to have bigger dreams, better lives and brighter futures.

We would really like a volunteer to help us with our social media profile, ensuring that we put out more content and engage more fully with our followers. We’d like to reach more people to spread the word about our work, research and achievements and would appreciate help developing a strategy for that.

What's involved?

We would like our social media volunteer to be involved with both scheduling planned social media content and responding to things as they develop. We’d like someone to research a calendar of relevant events, awareness weeks and celebrations that relate to Inclusion Gloucestershire’s work – such as mental health, disability and inclusion and accessibility for all initiatives. From this pre-planned content can be scheduled along with more standard pre-planned content that means that at least one original post will go out daily. We’d like our accounts to be pro-active in engaging and re-acting to social media and news stories as well so we engage well with our established audiences and grown and develop our audience base to spread awareness of what we do.

You would be based in our office at 2 St Michaels Square. It has wheelchair access and is close to car parks and public transport hubs. If you have any particular access needs do not hesitate to get in contact with us to discuss them. I can be contacted on jemmaj@inclusion-glos.org

Ideally we would like someone to commit around three hours each week to this volunteering position.

Why get involved?

This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for someone looking to build up practical social media experience particularly in a charitable setting. It would be valuable experience to talk about at an interview or application form for any paid marketing position. It is also a good way to gain more knowledge about inclusion, disability and mental health issues and share your knowledge of the topics with the wider public. We are a small, friendly office and you will be well supported throughout your volunteering to develop your skills and social media voice.

Inclusion Gloucestershire is also able to pay out of pocket travel expenses for your volunteering and training.
