Museum of Gloucester Meet & Greet!

We want everyone that visits our museum to have as warm and personal welcome as possible. Our meet & greet volunteers are really important in helping us do that. They help us shorten queues, quickly direct people to the facilities and areas in the museum that they want without people having to always queue to talk to reception. If you like talking to people, giving out information and making people's lives as hassle free as possible this is the volunteer role for you.

What's involved?

This role involves lots of talking to people. You'll be welcoming people as they come into the museum and directing them based on their needs. For some visitors you'll be helping them directly find specific objects in the museum, taking them to the back rooms if they have appointments, or helping them book onto tours and talks.

Our museum opens Monday – Saturdays, 10am – 5pm, as well as occasionally on a Sunday or Monday or evening, so we'd be looking for welcomers to do 2 – 3 hour shifts during these hours.

If you would like more information about this role without committing yourself please drop an email to museums@gloucester.gov.uk and someone will get back to you.

Why get involved?

If you enjoy talking to people and problem solving, or are looking to practice your customer service skills this is an excellent opportunities to put your volunteer time to good use. You'll also improve your knowledge of Gloucester's history and be some of the first people to know about events and exhibitions that are being held right across the city.
