Since 1998, St James City Farm has provided a taste of the countryside in the heart of the city of Gloucester. It is run as a community project by 'The Friendship Cafe' a registered local, charity, and our challenge is to maintain the huge interest in the organisation and to take it forward. The farm has a café to provide its visitors with refreshments and snacks and we need extra people to help it run. At the moment we serve hots and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks, but this could be expanded with the right team.
We need people to run our café. This would involve taking orders, serving hot and cold drinks, ice creams, cakes and other snacks as well as keeping the tearoom area clean and tidy and doing the washing and drying up. We try to open the café seven days a week so there are lots of potential shifts to be filled.
If you would like to take the café on as a bigger venture – perhaps extend the range of items offered or look at developing it further as a business we’d also be interested in hearing from you.

Why get involved?
This is a great chance to develop and practice customer service and basic catering skills in a friendly environment whilst meeting lots of new people. You would also be helping support the City Farm as the café could be a good revenue stream for us.
