Treasure Seekers Hub Help

Here at Treasure Seekers we believe that every single person has something to give to the community. We also believe that when someone is in a nurturing community they can grow and develop to become the best version of themselves. All of our volunteering opportunities are fully supported to help you be part of something bigger, grow and develop your skills and grow in confidence.

We need volunteering in the Treasure Seekers hub on Westgate Street, to assist people with their art projects. We particularly need volunteers to assist with our Make and Take activities. These activities include ceramic and glass painting, mosaic work, construction kits and canvasses.

We positively welcome all people in our community as volunteers at Treasure Seekers.

What's involved?

Each Make and Take session we run is slightly different. In one you might be helping participants unlock their creative ideas or advising on best techniques to do the craft safely and with maximum impact, in others you might be helping  find the right bit of equipment and materials to develop the piece in the way the participant wants. We’ll be able to train you to feel confident supporting people with each craft activity, so don’t worry if you haven’t got vast experience with all the craft types we run.

Our 45 minute Make and Take sessions run from 10am – 4pm, Mondays - Saturday, so there are lots of shifts to be filled.

Why get involved?

Volunteering at the hub with Make and Take session is a great way to unleash your creative side to help support others to unleash theirs. You’ll gain skills in working with and encouraging people with Art and also in explaining and guiding people in different craft techniques, as well as motivating groups with participants of differing abilities. You’ll improve your communication skills and pick up a few creative tips along the way.
