Regular Help

Welcome Saturday at the Heritage Hub

The Heritage Hub at Gloucestershire Archives now opens on the first Saturday of the month. The mornings will be filled with talks and other activities that show off and complement different aspects of our archival collections. We need volunteers to help welcome and direct people during the mornings. If you would like an informal chat about this volunteer position please email sally.middleton@gloucestershire.gov.uk

What's involved?

For some people the idea of visiting an archives is quite a daunting one – we want to make sure that people feel comfortable visiting us and so a warm welcome is especially important.

On the first Saturday of each month you’ll be welcoming people to the Heritage Hub building and directing them to the activities. You might also need to help with the setting up and down of each talk or activity – putting out chairs and tables or helping fetch other resources.

Why get involved?

This is an excellent opportunity to practice and gain some customer service and welcoming skills in a friendly environment. You’ll be able to help set up for the different activities and get a chance to see the archives that inspire the activities as well.

Gloucestershire Archives is able to pay reasonable volunteer expenses – such as for travel. We want our volunteer opportunities to be open to all, so if you have additional needs but do want to volunteer with us we will make every effort to support you to do so.

How to get involved?

  1. Sign into your account or sign up to Volunteer Makers.
  2. Accept the challenge
  3. Wait for a reply from the Gloucestershire Archives.
